We were nominated for the Telstra Business Women’s Award. What an honour and an absolute vote of confidence. Many thanks to Char Paul, original founder of The Junk Wave as a hobby business prior to it becoming incorporated as a not for profit program for students at risk of dropping out of school.
The process of entrant paperwork was lengthy and created some excellent thought on my behalf. While I am very aware of where The Junk Wave is going, I have paid insufficient attention to how it is going to get there!
We plan to go international: little The Junk Wave chapters that act as micro finance tops ups for marginalised people/groups.
Our biggest goal and our most effective bite is: Making junk valuable is our future.
I am so very grateful to all the community support offered us: all the waste donated and all the people willing to keep their junk out of landfill and off our beautiful reef.
I am very humbled at the acceptance, the positive feedback and the assistance we receive.
I hope you will support us in our award nomination. You can start by jumping over to our Facebook page and “liking” us. Environmental social enterprising is contagious. Go spread your contagion.
