Smart Art at Kick Arts. School holiday workshop in Cairns

Smart Art for children in Cairns accompanied by a parent or carer with Megan Bayliss of The Junk Wave, Cairns Festival’s 2011 Queen of Green.

Megan Bayliss is a Cairns-based recycling craftist, social worker, trainer and guest speaker who is passionate about living a sustainable lifestyle and reducing waste. She runs The Junk Wave, a social enterprise that aims to educate about recycling and sustainability through “Smart Art” workshops.

Megan will be running a Smart Art workshop at KickArts, this is an all ages workshop and all are welcome. If you would like to learn how to re-use some common waste in your home, this is the workshop for you.

Come along to learn how to make beads from junk mail, bangles from plastic soft drink bottles, animals from milk containers, and collage from all sorts of interesting junk that normally goes into the rubbish bin.

When: Thursday 12 April 10am-12 midday
Cost: Adults $20, Children $10, KickArts Members $16/$8
