The Cairns Festival committee awarded me the royal title of 2011 Queen of Green.
I sat upon our (MOM Training College) totally recycled float and waved and blew kisses to all my loyal subjects who just could not wait to go home to recycle and re-use 🙂
My official Festival duties involved visiting the children at Muddy’s Art Village and walking along the Esplanade wishing tourists a happy festival.
I had SOOOOOOOOOO much fun. I always KNEW there was royal blood in my veins!
My recycled crown and cape belong to the Cairns Festival committee and I return it to them for the next year’s Queen of Green. The crown’s structure is a wok drainer covered with recycled sparklies (buttons, glass beads, big colourful chunks of toy plastic, etc). The cape is made from a recycled bed spread and embellished with recycled jewel encrusted bubble wrap leaves.
