How to make your own air-dried porcelain from common house hold ingredients is The Junk Wave's best performing post EVER. Thousands and thousands of hits it has had, hundreds of comments and replies, and, it is not even my recipe or photography.
When I saw the simple air dried recipe I fell in love with it. It is not true "porcelain" but rather a citizen kitchen version of porcelain that air dries quickly. And, it only needs five common ingredients!
Many of our community of recycled crafters also fell under its charm and one woman in particular (Helen Morrison from Gin Gin in Queensland) immediately began producing drop dead gorgeous creations. These are her porcelain treasures pictured here. The detail she achieved is simply amazing!
In the lead up to Christmas with crafty folk thinking of sustainable and recyclable decorations, I thought I would remind you of the amazing goodies than can be made with this air-dried porcelain.
Will you make future heirlooms? I fancy some garbage can Christmas decorations to remind my friends and family to keep their garbage to a minimum.
Clean the world up: keep talking garbage.
