Do you entertain it?
Can you smell it, taste it, hear it, touch it and see it?
The movie, The Secret, made dream building popular: “If you can see it, you can have it.”
So, do you see your dream?
How badly do you want your dream? Let’s try it again:
Do you see your dream?
Vince Poscente, Olympian and motivation speaker, is a huge advocate for seeing the picture of your dream in your mind’s eye. In his charming book, The Ant and the Elephant, Poscente teaches that a conscious thought uses two thousand neurons a second. But, the sub conscious is so extremely powerful that it requires 4 billion neurons a second. Each time those neurons fire, they strengthen a neural pathway to make a clearly defined and easily to speed along neural highway. It makes sense then to imagine pictures (the language of the sub conscious) to get what you want because four billion neurons makes for a super highway straight to your dream.
The five steps of dream attainment (the action plan) in Poscente’s The Ant and the Elephant are:
- Clarify your vision (see it, hear it, small it, touch it, taste it)
- Commit to cultivating positive dominant thoughts (call up your dream images so you can sense it many times a day)
- Consistently focus on performance
- Strengthen confidence
- Control the response to any situation.
So, go ahead and dream because leaders and winners dream as part of their success strategy.
Smell it, taste it, hear it, touch it and see it.
“If you can see it, you can have it.”
