Mother Nature requires good parenting to help her settle and grow.
This Earth Hour, go beyond the hour. Take parenting action to make our world a better place. Give Mother Nature what she is requiring - less stress and strain.....for more than an hour.
To begin: Turn your lights off for an hour at 8.30 PM on Saturday 26 March 2011. Simultaneously, around the globe, people show their respect to Mother Nature by tributing her with candles rather than the electricity ripped from her heart.
Earth Hour is a call to action to every individual, every business and every community. It starts with a flick of the switch at 8:30pm Saturday March 26, in a collective display of commitment to protect the one thing that unites us all - the planet.
If it starts with a flick of a switch, how does it end? Rather than flicking the switch back on and leaving your contribution at that for the rest of the year, extend your commitment - do just one more thing. The little things we each do collectively make a big thing that has a big impact on us each enjoying a settled and balanced planet.
Make a second pledge: I pledge to go beyond the hour. I pledge to buy meat from Butcher rather than pre packaged on plastic trays and to use everything twice before I recycle. I am recycle committed anyway but my pledge acts to ensure less consumption and more refusal (something I'm not so good at).
Sign your pledge up to go Beyond the Hour. YOU have the power.
