UPDATE Sept 2011: See my directions to make a handbag at How to make a bag from food wrappers.
Easy to make (I made the bangle pictured below), you simply weave lengths that are then sewn together to make fantastic looking bags. Check out some of the gorgeous creations (and most excellent instructions) at Wrapper Purses.
Save outer packages of bulk items (chips, noodles, chocolates, etc) and weave them up. This is a FANTASTIC way to keep plastic wrappings out of landfill and off our water ways.
Please excuse me, I’m off to eat some more salt and vinegar chips…for the reusing of the chip packet!
There’s a step by step photo guide of my beautiful pink bangle over at the Junk Wave’s facebook page. Made from salt and vinegar chip packets it is very shiny and girlie. Guess what my grand-daughter will be having as her party favours, in milk bottle plastic baskets, this year? If you are a facebook lover, the step by step photo tutorial is my facebook page. Click on each pic to bring up the instructions.
