Smart Art is a term Megan Bayliss uses to describe the process of keeping waste from landfill by using it as art and craft material.
ZERO dollar craft budget AND
a million dollar win
for the environment:
that is SMART Art!
Hold a Smart Art party at your home (Cairns)
and you get to attend a recycled craft training for FREE*.
Invite friends to come (costs $30.00) and learn how to use the common waste from their kitchen to make fantastic recycled craft, home decor or gift items: all from things that would otherwise be thrown out!
Over a three-hour period, Megan will teach you all the theory behind Smart Art (sustainability and conservation) and help you all make beautiful items from waste. All this in the comfort and familiar surrounds of your own home.
If you are studying, Smart Art is theory and recycled craft mapped to a national training qualification: CHCGROUP403D Plan & conduct group activities. This is a unit found in Certificate and Diploma courses in youth work, community development, health & leisure and counselling. For other areas you may be studying in (children’s services or out side school hours care for example) talk to Megan to see if you may be able to claim recognition of prior learning (RPL) after completing a 3 hour Smart Art workshop.
* Minimum of six paying guests. Megan Bayliss collects the registrations and payments. Host who comes for free puts on a very simple snack. Host receives free tuition, free materials for their own art and craft collection and keeps any collectively made items from the workshop.
