I’m always amazed at how people try to hide their emotional baggage.
Some people have baggage and some have the whole luggage shop.
You don’t get to be a grown up in our dysfunctional society today without some baggage.
Get in line with your baggage….everyone else is carrying a load too you know as they wait for their aeroplane of good fortune to pick them up and fly them away to a promised land of no hurt or failure.
Whatever! I stopped believing in fairy tales when I found out that Santa Clause was a made up story.
But, I do believe that great journeys toward a life of good fortune begin with a little step, a little difference and a whole lot of baggage left behind.
It’s called failing yourself forward. Each time you fail you leave the baggage in the locker and take another step forward.
This is the secret of how some people carry their baggage differently. They still have it but they don’t drag it around with them, cluttering up their launch pad or slowing them down.
If a little step really is the beginning of a great journey, go ahead and take that little step today. Check your luggage into a locker and move forward, little bit by little bit.
I recommend The Mental Fitness Challenge as a first step. Commit to it for 90 days – and get ready for take off. Your life WILL be better if you stick to the daily reading, challenge and slight push.
So, if you want to move on in life after a major kick (divorce, death, bankruptcy, breakup, redundancy, job termination, etc) fail your way forward and take the challenge: this is your therapist speaking (I actually am a therapist); buckle up for take-off.
