First time offered in Far North Queensland: Bear the Therapy dog in her role as an animal assisted diversional therapist teams up with recycled craft trainer and social worker, Megan Bayliss and Social Work student, Jess Grinter* to offer a workshop of difference.

Diversional Therapy is an intervention for doing therapeutic work when you’re not doing therapeutic work.

Diversional activities increase empowerment by concentrating on the leisure and participation choices of people you work with…..without looking like therapy, counselling or support work.

Diversional Therapy is real work and recycled craft and therapy animals are different ways to engage therapeutically with your clients.

Come to our diversional therapy workshop in Cairns or Tully to learn how to
use recycled craft as a diversional and therapeutic activity

interact with Bear*, the qualified therapy dog.
