With Christmas school holidays around the corner I am getting lots of enquiries about vacation care recycled craft programs. Given plastic waste is everywhere and that in Cairns we are on the ocean it makes sense to use single use plastic in craft projects as a medium for educating for sustainability and ocean clean up.
Our beautiful aluminium can angel decorations are loved by all and sundry and make terrific gifts when packaged as a set of six different coloured angels. However, those crafty little aluminium angels are too sharp for children to make and not suitable as gift toppers for children’s gifts.
Enter plastic milk bottles angel decorations: these little cherubs can be painted, written on or embellished with sparkly treasures (use a glue that sticks to plastic – I use Sellys Plastic Fix).
Child friendly (except for the glue gun), these precious recycled plastic angels take ten minutes to make and as long as you want to decorate with your Christmas message.
