I’m not just a recycling craftist, I am also an author: published across a few different genres.
I’m an active member of Book Creator’s Circle, a professional, literary community engaging writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, bookshops and others with a passion for books.
Book Creators Circle are having a book expo in Cairns this Saturday. Authors, publishers, book sellers, illustrators and editors from Australia will be there, selling their books and selling their skills.
I’ll be there exhibiting for My Other Mum Training College: a national Registered Training College that employs local writers to produce house style curricula. MOM employs me as a writer, three days per week.
I’m also MC at the Book Expo and I get to introduce the delightful guest speakers: Spike Milligan’s daughter Laura Milligan and Dr Lindsay Simpson of Honeymoon Dive fame (did you know that one of her earlier books, My Husband My Killer, was made into a telemovie starring Colin Friels?).
If you are Cairns local, come and talk to emerging and celebrated authors, buy signed copies of their books for Christmas presents or find out from the professionals how to get your own book published.
There are four writing workshops on the Sunday, too. Take advantage of a great opportunity to learn about publishing with Dan Kelly publisher at Boolarong Press, learn about public speaking with Patricia Ryan, writing with Hazel Menehira and be totally inspired by Stephen Chong. You can book into the workshops and pay the presenters at the Book Expo on Saturday.
If you want to write or to publish, you really do need to belong to Book Creators Circle. It’s international, no matter where you live in the world, this network is perfect for serious writers and book creating professionals. Information about joining, here.
With all those creative people in the one place, I am in my element! See you on Saturday for the book expo, and Sunday for the workshops.
