I’m punny and my husband hates it. Level of care? Something, but not too high 🙂 I love to take words that are similar and change them to make a different meaning; like, altitude and attitude into althitude and then into the girl’s name, Althea (Disclaimer, respect and credit – I am a lover of Judy Horack’s Women with Altitude series).
So, I’m listening to a Chris Brady (from LIFE Leadership) CD where he talks about required traits for modern day entrepreneurs. Chris insists that to succeed in difference people need to be Ambitious, Looking, Teachable and Honest. There’s me driving up a hill with the CD blaring, trying to quickly establish a memory game to remember the four important first letters of those words (ALTH) and the symbolism of driving up a hill rose up and smacked me in the face.
“Women with altitude,” it said. “Sounds like women with ALTHitude”. I tell you, if that road had a real voice, it would have had a disdainful and condescending tone to the last statement!
“Got it,” I nodded in the affirmative. “Committed to memory,” I promised myself. But then, very cleverly I thought, my own inner voice came up with a character, ALTHea, a woman with ALTHitude.
A woman with ALTHitude is absolutely,
- Ambitious but with a social conscience (a conscious capitalist if you like)
- Looking for something to progress her life with without hurting other people in the process
- Teachable (nobody wants to play with a know-it-all, and, if you know it all, why aren’t we following you?), and
- Honest (integrity and willingness to be transparent is soooooo lacking in today’s business world).
Men can have ALTHitude too, no problems, but, I’m a woman and I see things through a woman’s lens. Therefore my ALTHea character has masses of estrogen.
If you, male or female, have a bit of Althea inside you, talk with me about my second home based business: LIFE Leadership. We train leaders and see LIFE through eight categories of challenge that lead to life balance – Family, Fitness, Fun, Finances, Following, Freedom, Faith and Friends. Some time one, three or seven of these areas may need a little tweaking to create life balance so we work on them via a guided reading program. We also retail subscription programs in each of the eight areas and profit share in LIFE Leaderships global income. It’s pretty neat and well suited to an ALTHea.
But of course, the apple never falls far from the tree and I wouldn’t be involved if I couldn’t work from home AND there wasn’t something I could do to encourage more recycling and recycled craft (my LOVE areas). They fall into the category of Fitness – environmental and social fitness. They are also Fun and good for Families. Further, they are a way to increase Finance (and my bank account likes that).
LIFE Leadership launches in Australia in March 2014. Megan Althea Althitude intends to be a leader on the international LIFE Leadership guest speaking circuit leading the change of environmental fitness. I want some friends to play with (it is boring travelling alone). If you have ALTHitude and want more information about the LIFE Leadership business, contact me (my real name is Megan Bayliss, my alter-ego is Althea Althitude).
