To make 1/3 of a cup of book binding strength glue (strong) you need:
- 1 pack or 1/4 oz unflavored gelatin
- 3 tbs boiling water
- 1 tbs vinegar
- 1 tsp glycerin
Bring the water to the boil in a pan, add the gelatin and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Add the vinegar and glycerin while stirring until mixture is well blended.
To use while the glue is still warm: apply a thin layer with a brush to the area you want to bind. This glue is waterproof and is great for sealing craft items and binding leather to leather. It also makes good flexible glue for use on paper or for gluing cloth to cardboard.
To Store the glue: Store in a tightly capped plastic or glass jar and it will keep for several months. If the glue gels in the bottle, warm it in hot water and you will be able to reuse it.
